The Suyematsu Music Library is located in the Performing Arts Center, Room PA203. The Suyematsu Music Library supports programs offered by the music and theatre departments along with the general music information needs of Minnesota State University, Mankato, and the greater community. The Music Library is named for its founder, who came to Mankato State College as a piano instructor in 1963. From the beginning, Professor Suyematsu discerned the need for music listening facilities for all students. When the Music Department moved to the Performing Arts Center in 1968, the music library was given a space and is located there today. Kiyo remained a part of the music faculty, serving as teacher and music librarian, until her retirement in 1991. |
