The Human Relations Area Files (HRAF) is a specially organized full-text database of historic and descriptive information on ethnic, cultural, religious, and national groups worldwide. It can be used to find information on a particular culture or cultural trait or for making cross-cultural comparisons. This is a good place to find otherwise inaccessible primary sources and English translations of foreign texts. Ethnographics texts relating to 112 cultures are available electronically in the eHRAF; more than 200 other cultures are described by documents in the HRAF paper files located on the first floor of Memorial Library.
