Vikings Training Camp @ Minnesota State University, Mankato
Oral History Project
The University Archives, a unit of Library Services, is conducting an oral history project to document Vikings Training Camp at Minnesota State University, Mankato. We are looking for fans, community partners, MSU employees, and Viking players/coaches/staff past and present to share their stories.
The University Archives is partnering with the Blue Earth County Historical Society to collect and present the 50 year history of Vikings Training Camp in Mankato during the summer of 2015.
The Blue Earth County Historical Society will be hosting a Vikings Training Camp exhibit in July and August 2015.
How to Participate
- Be Interviewed by Archives Staff
The University Archives will be conducting and coordinating oral histories. Please contact email@example.com, if you are interested in being interviewed, 507-389-1029.
- Please fill out and submit a Vikings Training Camp @ Minnesota State University, Mankato form if you are interested to be interviewed.
- Be Interviewed by Someone Else/Conduct Interviews
With so many people with memories of Vikings Training Camp, it will be challenging for the University Archives staff to interview all that would like to participate. The University Archives has developed a project packet that anyone can use to interview a participant.
What Happens to the Interviews?
All interviews will be added to the University Archives and made available to researchers in an effort to document Vikings Training Camp as part of the University's history. We do plan to provide acces to the oral history interviews through our digital collection ARCH.
The Vikings Training Camp Oral History Project was completed in August 2015. Oral history videos of former Vikings players, fans, community partners, and University staff are available for viewing at ARCH: University Archives Digital Collections. Thank you to all who participated in this project!
