Abstract:

The Dolores M. Durgin collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Durgin and Daardi Sizemore in 2002. At age 20 Durgin enlisted into the WAVES Navy Air Corp and served during World War II. She traveled around the United States during her 3 years in the service, working as an Aviation Machinist. In her interview she talks about her work, working with the men and how she met her husband in the service. Durgin also describes in detail her photographs that are included in the collection.

This oral history interview was conducted as part of the South Central Minnesota Veterans History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
