The Mary Berg collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Berg and Tom Kramer, her son-in-law, in November 1984. In the interview, Berg, who taught at a rural school that was located between Claremont and Owatonna, Minnesota, discussed her experiences as a teacher during 1950-51. Berg talked about her typical day teaching, school curriculum, discipline and behavior, administrators, and the social life of a rural school teacher.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for a course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
