The Roy Jacobson collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Jacobson and Anthony Boyer during October 1984. In the interview, Jacobson, a former school board member, discussed the expectation of community members towards teachers in one room schools in southwestern Minnesota during the 1940s and 1950s. He talked about hiring policies, the predominance of female teachers, and the various duties assigned to teachers.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for a course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
