The Betty Maschke collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Maschke and Ethel Beuch during the autumn of 1984. In the interview, Maschke, a former teacher, discussed her experiences learning about becoming a teacher during the 1930s. She noted the formal, semi-formal, and informal settings at Mankato State Teachers College in Mankato, Minnesota. Furthermore, Maschke talked about her social life and living standards while attending college in addition to mentioning the school's teachers.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for a course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
