Newton, Judith (Judy) D. Oral History Interview, 24 October 1983. SMHC Manuscript Collection 1488. 1 folder and 1 audiocassette.
The Judith Newton collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Newton and Elden Eklund during the autumn of 1983. In the interview, Newton, an English teacher at Faribault, Minnesota, discussed the purpose and results of the 1975 Faribault Teachers' Strike. Newton noted the strike's effect on teachers, administrators, and students. She believed that the strike hardened positions on both the employer and employee sides of the conflict.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for a course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
