The Sylvan H. Thiesse collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an interview conducted between Thiesse and David A. Thomas during November 1990. In the interview, Thiesse discussed the changes that have occurred within public education between 1950 and 1984. Primarily, Thiesse focused upon his experiences as a teacher and principal in Titonka, Iowa and his years teaching at Franklin Junior High School and at the local community college in the Mankato, Minnesota area.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
