The Jim Keckeisen collection contains an audiocassette and transcript of an interview conducted between Keckeisen and Mechthild Becker during the fall of 1990. Keckeisen worked as an English and Social Studies teacher between 1957 and 1986. Following 1986, he became the staff development coordinator for the Mankato School District. In the interview, Keckeisen discussed the changes that occurred in his profession during his career. He noted the changes in students' attitudes and the diminished time allocated for instructional purposes. Additionally, Keckeisen discussed the relationships among administrators, faculty, students and their families, and the surrounding community.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
