The Alice Grace Hebel collection contains an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Hebel and Christopher Walchuk during the fall of 1990. Hebel worked as a rural school teacher and town teacher at various schools near Morristown, Minnesota between 1941 and 1986. In the interview, Hebel discussed her experiences teaching and the changes that she believed occurred during her career. She focused on administrators and reading programs at the elementary school level.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
