The Ramona E. Swenson collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an interview conducted between Swenson and Rebecca Tennis Hanson during the fall of 1988. Swenson worked as an elementary school teacher. In the interview, she discussed her teaching career that began in 1952 and the changes and areas of continuity that remained during 1988. Swenson focused on the changes in attitudes and behaviors in society, families, and her role as an educator. She believed the most substantial change occurred in the work-ethic of students.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
