This collection consists of an autobiographical account written by Joel N. Bergstrom, of Mankato, Minnesota. The account discusses his family's move to the United States from Sweden, his youth in Sweden and the U.S., his career as a construction worker and contractor, and other various reminiscences from his youth until 1971.
Joel N. Bergstrom was born in January 1882. He came to the United States when World War I started. He worked for the J.D. Nelson Construction Company in Mankato, and later on his own as an independent contractor. He and his wife, Ella Mae, had one child together. Joel N. Bergstrom died in April of 1985.
