Abstract:

This collection consists of items from the North Star Cat Club, of Mankato, Minnesota. By-laws, legal papers, programs from cat shows promoted by the group, and the club's record book make up the collection. The record book contains meeting minutes and the by-laws of the club.

Historical Note:

The North Star Cat Club, Inc. was officially formed on November 16, 1961. The group held meetings to discuss issues pertaining to the ownership of cats. They were also interested in the raising of purebred cats, and controlling the cat population. The club was affiliated with the American Cat Fanciers Association, and also actively supported the local animal shelter and the Sibley Park Zoo
