This collection is made up of a ledger kept by Zach Paddock, who was a Mankato, Minnesota businessman and politician. The ledger, dated 1872, contains transactions from Paddock's grain business. It contains notes on dealings with other grain companies from Winona, Minneapolis, and St. Paul.
Zach Paddock came to Mankato, Minnesota in 1858. He operated a grocery store and was a contractor and grain dealer during his time in Mankato. He also served as clerk of the Blue Earth County District Court (1860 - 1869), county coroner for three terms, and mayor of Mankato for one term. Paddock died in 1895.
