Responsibilities:
As the Government Documents Technician , I am responsible for administering the materials for the government documents collection. Adding print, microfiche, and electronic documents from the various government agencies to the library catalog is my main responsibility. I maintain the physical collection, working with the Government Documents Librarian in discarding superseded and outdated materials. I see that the appropriate documents are sent to the University of Minnesota, the regional depository, when discarding. It is also my responsibility to train and supervise the government document student assistants. In addition, I construct monthly government document displays at Memorial Library, as well as collect display submissions from libraries around the country to add to our website "Government Documents Display Clearinghouse".
