I serve as the cataloger for print and electronic resources, and investigate and provide leadership for new technologies to enhance access.
I serve as a member of the Collection Development team for the College of Science, Engineering & Technology. My primary departments are:
I am an active member of OLAC (OnLine Audiovisual Catalogers) since fall 2000. I co-chaired the 2002 OLAC Conference in St. Paul, served on three other OLAC conference committees, and served eight years on the executive board as the Treasurer/Membership Coordinator, vice president, and president. I am currently a member of the editorial board for
Cataloging & Classification Quarterly and have also served as the Cataloging News editor and the Network Access & Applications editor. I hold an Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee (UWM) and an MS in Geography and English Technical Communication from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
I am the recipient of the 2007 Esther J. Piercy Award from the American Library Association’s Association for Library Collections and Technical Services division for outstanding contributions to librarianship in the field of technical services, the 2009 recipient of the Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award from the School of Information Sciences (SOIS), UWM, and the 2012 recipient of the Nancy B. Olson Award from OLAC. I assisted Ms. Olson in the re-write of Cataloging of Audiovisual Materials and Other Special Materials for its fifth edition and am currently working on an RDA companion to the fifth edition.
